The real estate market in Minnesotais continuing to see positive movement. As you will see here in MAAR's Monthly Skinny were MAAR's President, Steve Havig recaps the performance of the Twin Cities real estate market. 

 

Here are a few of the video's key points for Minnesota's Real Estate Market in the Twin Cities Metro Area for the month of November of 2009. 

• Strong home sales + shrinking supply = signs of stabilization
• Median Sales Price: $170,000
• Pending Sale: 2,987 which is a 10% increase over Nov 08
• Closed Sales: 4,304 an astonishing 67% increase over Nov 08

We project with the holidays and the extension of the tax credit we will see a slight lull in Minnesota's Twin Cities real estate market through the first of the year.

2,000+ Toys! Toys-For-Tots Drive a Huge Success

Our Toys-For-Tots drive was a huge success! With the efforts from our EXit Holiday Happy Hour and in combination of over 20 real estate offices in Minnesota, MAAR's YoPro group was able to donate over 2,000 toys to Toys-For-Tots. Last Friday night our YoPro group presented these toys to the Marines at KARE-11.

"As leading young professionals it is important that we give back to the communities we serve. Last year I proposed the Toys-For-Tot drive to our YoPro group and am very pleased to see our success. It is a great feeling to know our efforts will brighton the holidays for many children in Minnesota," shares Kimberly Koelher. Kimberly is the broker and owner of Exit Three Rivers Realty and is a founding member of the YoPro group at MAAR.

I Do It For Milk

There are many times in life we travel blindly without direction or spirit, both in our personal and professional lives. Last night I was reminded of this as I was watching the Cinderella Man based on the life of boxer Jimmy Braddock. I believe James (Jimmy) Braddock's, story can speak to many lives of real estate professionals as it has been difficult for many these past couple of years.  

 

After falling professionally and having to adjust and make many sacrifices during the great depression he was given the opportunity to professionally rise again. This time however he did it with spirit and purpose and rose to the top.

 

At a news conference prior to one of his greatest fights of his life he was asked why did he agree to such a deadly fight (his opponent was supposidley deadly in the ring) he simply said, "I do it for Milk." He explained in the past when he fought for the glory and with no purpose but now he knows his purpose. Fueled by this purpose,  training, focus and determination he was unstoppable and rose to the top.

 

I believe if we too apply these fundamentals to our foundations we will continue to rise to the top.
